Tracy Adams, CRNP joined our group in June 2008 after returning to Maryland from New Hampshire. She has extensive clinical experience. As an experienced nurse working in both inpatient and outpatient settings for 17 years, she was first a registered nurse in obstetrics in an inner city hospital, and then a family nurse practitioner working in a private physicians office and then in a Federally Qualified health center. Tracy has vast experience with acute and chronic illness that span the life cycle from birth to geriatrics. She has also participated in data collection for a research study.
Tracy now sees patients and assists Dr. Marc Brassard with his total joint practice in our offices in Annapolis and Bowie, and in surgery at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Nurse practitioners are licensed by the State to independently perform:
- Comprehensive physical assessment of patients;
- Establishing medical diagnosis for common short-term or chronic table health problems;
- Ordering, performing, and interpreting laboratory tests;
- Prescribing drugs;
- Performing therapeutic or corrective measures;
- Referring patients to appropriate licensed physicians or other health care providers;
- Providing emergency care.
