While we are still scheduling in-person visits in our offices when needed, at OSMS the safety of our patients, as well as our staff, is our top priority. We want to ensure that we balance our compliance with state and national recommendations regarding social distancing and providing you orthopedic care that meets your needs. Non-Emergency Orthopedic Surgeries
We are doing our part to conserve resources, PPE and keep patients of the hospitals by postponing all non emergency orthopedic surgeries at the current time. This is in effect for all surgeries scheduled until at least May 1st. As the COVID-19 crisis unfolds, we will reevaluate these dates as appropriate.
The Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, LLC was established in 1976, by its founder Dr. Marshall K. Steele, III. He was later joined by his father Marshall K. Steele, Jr., and Dr. Stephen Faust in 1979. Dr. Marshall K. Steele III and Dr. Robert Verklin can be credited with developing the first comprehensive Sports Medicine Program in Anne Arundel County to serve the student athletes of the county’s high schools. OSMS was also the first orthopedic group in Annapolis to initiate subspecialty orthopedic care for their patients. The practice was also instrumental in the development of the Center for Joint Replacement at Anne Arundel Medical Center in 1996. Today, OSMS has grown to 17 board certified orthopedic surgeons, with advanced training in their respective subspecialties, which include foot and ankle, knee and hip, hand and upper extremity,spine, total joint reconstruction, arthroscopic and microvascular surgeries, sports medicine, pediatric disorders, bone and joint disease, arthritis, fractures and emergency trauma. In addition OSMS has a physiatrist, podiatrist, six physician assistants, and two certified nurse practitioner, which continue to assist with outstanding patient care.

OSMS offers in the Annapolis office a Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic from 8:00am-11:00am.
OSMS has several convenient office locations, Annapolis, Bowie, Easton, Kent Island, Millersville, Odenton, and Pasadena. These offices provide on-site services, including X-ray, physical therapy, occupational therapy, casts, splints, and orthotics. At all locations, patients are provided with free on-site parking and easy access.
