Alexander D. Shushan, M.D.
Dr. Alex Shushan is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his pre-graduate studies at Tufts University where he majored in Biology, and graduated Summa Cum Laude, with additional recognition in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Other honors included membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society, Order of Omega, and awarding of the Anna Quincy Churchill Prize in Biology.
Dr. Shushan attended The University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed a surgical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in NY, and continued his Residency training at Boston Medical Center. There he was awarded membership in the AOA Resident Leadership Forum, and honored at the New England Fracture Forum.
While in residency, Dr. Shushan developed an appreciation for and skill in fracture care, but also found a passion for hand and upper extremity surgery. He went on to pursue a Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. He completed this final segment of his formal training at Tufts Medical Center and New England Baptist Hospital, in Boston, MA.
Dr. Shushan enjoys taking care of upper and lower extremity trauma, and specializes in Hand Surgery and Upper Extremity Surgery. He is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He is active in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
Dr. Shushan lives in Severna Park and enjoys spending time with his children and running.
