Eric Crapster, PA-C
Eric Crapster joined OSMC in 2013 as a Physician Assistant to Dr. Jeffery Gelfand, orthopaedic surgeon, who specializes in the care of the hand and upper extremity. Eric received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University. He then went on to complete his Physician Assistant degree from Cuyahoga Community College. Some of his training was at the Cleveland Clinic where he had rotations in hand surgery as well as plastic surgery. After graduating from PA school, Eric went on to work at Kernan Orthopedic Hospital, where he learned a vast amount about orthopaedic surgery and care. While at Kernan, the hospital provided orthopaedic care for the Baltimore Ravens and The University of Maryland Terrapins. In addition to Kernan hospital, he has worked for the Maryland Spine Center at Mercy Medical Center and Antoniades Spine at Upper Chesapeake Hospital. Since 2002, Eric has dedicated himself to working in orthopaedic; with more than 7 of those years he worked with a subspecialty in orthopaedic spine surgery and care. Since 2004 Eric has been providing medical care in an urgent care facility to keep up with his general medical skills. Eric is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
While at Salisbury University Eric was a member of the football team; He started at center, was honored as a scholar athlete and was also recipient of the Bobby Richards Memorial Award.
Eric is happy to be returning to OSMC where he previously worked as an ortho tech up until 2000 prior to attending Physician Assistant school. Eric enjoys spending his free time with his wife, 2 children and his dog Lilly.
Eric works closely with Dr. Gelfand in our Annapolis, Bowie and Millersville offices. He assists with history and physicals, in addition to post-op and follow-up evaluations, and surgeries.
